Keep Your 2D Depth Readings

Upgrading to a SOLIX or APEX doesn't mean you have to rip out your existing in-hull transducer. The Humminbird AD 1429 Adapter Cable converts the standard 7-Pin connector found on most 2D transducers into the 14-Pin connector required by the SOLIX, APEX, and ONIX series.

The "Pro" Setup:

This cable is most commonly used in conjunction with a splitter cable (14 M ID SIDB Y) to run dual transducers: a big MEGA Imaging transducer on the transom for detail, and a small "Shoot-Through-Hull" puck (XP 9 20) connected via this adapter for high-speed depth readings while on plane.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use this to connect my old Side Imaging transducer to my new SOLIX?

No. This adapter does not support the wiring for Side Imaging or Down Imaging. It is designed specifically for 2D Sonar only. If you connect an SI transducer, you will only get the 2D depth reading, not the image.

Is this the right cable for my Minn Kota Trolling Motor US2?

No. If you are connecting the Universal Sonar 2 (US2) from a Minn Kota motor to a SOLIX/APEX, you need the MKR-US2-13. The wiring is slightly different despite the plugs looking similar.

Why would I need this if my SOLIX comes with a transducer?

The large SOLIX transducer must be mounted outside the boat and often loses bottom contact at high speeds (30mph+). Many pros install a second, small 2D transducer inside the hull (fiberglass boats) to read depth while running fast. This adapter allows that small standard transducer to plug into the large SOLIX port (usually via a Y-Cable).
