Frequently Asked Questions

Is 15 feet long enough for a bow-to-console link on an 18-foot boat?

Usually, no. Once you account for the vertical drop down from the bow, routing through the gunnels, and coming back up into the console, 15 feet is often too short for an 18-foot boat. We highly recommend measuring your exact routing path with a piece of string, or stepping up to the 20ft (AS EC 20E) cable to be safe.

Do I really need the adapter for my HELIX?

Yes. The port on the back of all HELIX units is a small, rectangular proprietary plug. This AS EC 15E cable has a round, threaded metal connector. The AS EC QDE dongle converts the square HELIX port to the round Ethernet port. You cannot plug this cable in without it.

Will I have to pay import duties if I order this to Ontario or Alberta?
