Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to buy a separate "black box" sonar module to make this work?
No. One of the biggest advantages of Humminbird MEGA Live is that it does not require an external sonar module. The transducer connects directly to your compatible Humminbird control head (or a 5-Port Ethernet Switch) via the included Ethernet cable, saving you valuable boat space and installation time.
What is the difference between Forward, Down, and Landscape modes?
The included shaft bracket allows you to physically rotate the transducer by hand. Forward looks out ahead of your boat to cast at visible targets. Down looks directly underneath the boat for vertical jigging. Landscape provides a wide, bird's-eye view around the boat, which is perfect for scouting large flats or weed lines.
Will this work with my HELIX 7 G3N?
No. While the HELIX 7 G4N (with MEGA Imaging) is compatible, the older HELIX 7 G3N series does not possess the processing power required to run MEGA Live Imaging. If you have a G3N, it must be a size 8, 9, 10, or 12 model equipped with MEGA Imaging.
