Solid Metal Mounting

When you need maximum rigidity, plastic just won't cut it. The Minn Kota MKA-16-03 is the premium Anodized Aluminum quick release bracket designed for the Ulterra, Terrova, and PowerDrive series. It allows you to slide your motor off the bow in seconds for travel, storage, or security.

Theft Protection:

Unlike standard bolts, this system uses a locking pin mechanism. You can replace the standard pin with a padlock (not included) to secure your motor to the deck, preventing theft while parked at the hotel or launch.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this better than the plastic (composite) MKA-21?

It depends on your preference. The MKA-16-03 (Aluminum) is stronger and more rigid, making it better for high-thrust motors (112lb) or rough water. However, the MKA-21 (Composite) is quieter and fully corrosion-proof. Most heavy-duty users prefer this aluminum version.

Does it rattle?

Minn Kota has updated this design (the "-03" version) to have tighter tolerances than the older "-02" model. Once the locking pin is inserted and the thumb screw is tightened, the connection is solid and noise-free.

Can I use this on my Ultrex?

Technically, the bolt patterns can often align, but it is NOT recommended. The Ultrex has a massive amount of torque and a larger footprint that hangs over the edge. You should use the MKA-51 or MKA-23, which are specifically designed for the foot-pedal cable clearance and torque of the Ultrex/Fortrex series.
