Frequently Asked Questions

Will this cable give my HELIX Down Imaging or Side Imaging?

No. The Universal Sonar 2 (US2) transducer built into standard Minn Kota motors is strictly a traditional 2D sonar transducer. It cannot produce high-frequency Down or Side imaging, regardless of the adapter cable used.

Why do I need this if my trolling motor already has a built-in transducer?

Minn Kota leaves the end of the US2 cable generic so it can be adapted to fit multiple fish finder brands (Garmin, Lowrance, Humminbird). You must use this specific 7-pin adapter to physically plug the generic motor cable into the back of your Humminbird unit.

Does this work for APEX or SOLIX units?

No. Humminbird APEX and SOLIX units utilize a completely different plug type on the back of their displays. If you have an APEX or SOLIX, you will need the Minn Kota MKR-US2-13 adapter cable instead.
