On the Showdown 5.6, you press the "Beam" button on the head unit. This transducer has the internal switching crystal to support that feature.

My Showdown turns on but reads "0.0" depth. Do I need this?

"0.0" or "Sim" usually indicates the head unit isn't detecting the transducer. Check your connection first; if it's tight and still reading 0.0, your transducer is likely damaged and needs replacement.

Will this fit the Showdown Troller?

No. The Troller is a smaller handheld unit that uses a different power/transducer configuration. This is for the full-size 5.6 unit.
