Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between this MKA-61 and the older MKA-42?
While they look similar and fit the same short-shaft motors, the MKA-61 is the heavily upgraded version. It is built to handle the significantly higher thrust of the new brushless QUEST series motors and comes with thicker, heavier-duty 5/16" stainless steel mounting hardware.
Can I use this bracket if my Ultrex QUEST has a 52-inch shaft?
Absolutely not. The incredible torque generated by a QUEST motor on a longer 52-inch or 60-inch shaft creates too much leverage for this short bracket footprint. It could cause the bracket to fail or rip out of your deck. You must upgrade to the longer bracket to safely distribute that load.
How does the locking mechanism work?
The bracket features a heavy-duty side-locking screw. As you tighten this side screw, it compresses the sliding upper and lower aluminum plates tightly together, creating a zero-play connection. It also features a slot where you can attach a standard padlock (not included) to prevent the side screw from being backed out, securing your motor from theft.
